NEW! Afraid of downloading quitting counter programs into your computer or on the road traveling? QuitSmokingCounter.com offers the first online quit smoking meter that allows users to calculate their quit smoking statistics in either U.S. or Euro Dollars, copy the results to their computer's clipboard and transport them for easy pasting onto message boards or into e-mails.

Harry's Quit Counter

A pack-a-day Greek software designer, on April 21, 2003 Harry went "cold turkey" claiming freedom from nicotine, and on June 6th unveiled his own meter. Graphically themed upon the milestone clubs of WhyQuit's Freedom from Tobacco (a forum dedicated exclusively to the art and science of abrupt nicotine cessation), aside from just helping you celebrate all major milestones, users are awarded Green status at one month, their quits are "Bronzed" at 3 months, turn Silver at midyear, and are awarded Gold status at one year. In addition to tracking standard features such as time quit, cigarettes not smoked, and money and life saved, Harry's meter offers the unique ability to not only track the quit statistics of others (friends, family and online favorites) but also to easily copy their latest statistics to your computer's clipboard (as well as your own) for quick pasting in message board posts and e-mails. With one click you'll see all the latest milestones of each quitter entered and with another click you can send them an e-mail of "support." Yes, at last, a meter design to not only foster and celebrate your own achievement, but to interactively support and encouragement the continuing success of those around you!

Quit Keeper
Quit Keeper is a small (94.3K), easy to install and easy to use meter for Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP users, that allows one click copying to your clipboard of time quit, cigs not smoked, money saved and life saved. Quit Keeper does not have all the fancy bells and whistles of the bigger meters but it's simple, clean and easy to use. It will keep track of the quit date of friends.

SilkQuit v2.50

NOTE: This program is still FREE but be sure to click the download link beneath donate link "Arguably the first stand-alone Quit Meter for Windows in the world, SilkQuit remains popular across the Internet on both Usenet and WWW quit smoking support forums. The current version of SilkQuit is v2.50 and you can download it here! SilkQuit v2.50 is compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP."

Quit Time
Quit Time is another Windows 95/98 quitmeter that shows you how long you've been smoke-free, how many cigarettes you haven't smoked, how much money you've saved and how much longer you might live by not smoking.

Smoking Cost Calculator
Factoring for inflation (the ever increasing cost of cigarettes) how much will smoking cost you each year, between now and your 69th birthday, if you fail to keep your dependency under arrest? Within seconds, this nifty online tool will create an online chart showing you.

Online Quit Smoking Calculator
This is another online quit smoking calculator for when you are away from your computer, out of town on business or vacation holiday, or simply don't feel safe downloading one of the programs shown on this page. Although it does not allow one click copying to your computer's keyboard, as does the new counter featured above (at QuitSmokingCounter.com), simply hold down your mouse button while dragging over it, and then right click and select "copy," you'll copy the results to your computer's clipboard. You'll now be able to paste the results into any e-mail, word processing program or online messaeboard simply by either right clicking and selecting "paste," or clicking on the paste icon (a clipboard with a piece of paper in front) on your browser, e-mail, word processing, or message composition tool bar. If still stumped, here's a link that will help you to learn how to copy and paste.

Quitomzilla
Quitomzilla is the first truly international quit meter. Its languages allow for display in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian. In that this meter is new and was added to this page on April 29, 2005, WhyQuit would appreciate feedback from any users, letting us know what you think and describing the meters features.

Quitometer for Mac Users
Quitometer 1.0.1 is a no smoking calculator written in HyperTalk™ the scripting language of HyperCard™. Features include: automatic calculation of years, months, weeks, days, hours and minutes from the time of quitting; an ongoing record of the money saved since the time of quitting; can manually be updated hourly, and updates when launched, or when exporting; can save the current information to the clipboard upon quitting for pasting into signature files for posting; can export information to a text file for further record keeping; keeps date and time of exporting within the exported file. As you'll note Quitometer 2.0 is also available now at the above link but I have not yet had any feedback on how it compares to 1.0.

Quit meters can be fun but with nicotine smoking having a 50% adult kill rate you truly are engaged in a life or death struggle. Have you met Bryan, Noni, Sean, Kim or any of the more than two million middle-aged nicotine addicts who each year wait too long and allow their addiction to kill them?
Knowledge is power and we strongly encourage you to read, read, read! Like the true alcoholic, your dependency is a permanent condition. If you are to keep it arrested and remain on this side of the bars there is only one rule that absolutely guarantees success to all - no nicotine today, Never Take Another Puff, Dip or Chew!
The next few minutes will always be doable!
Be sure and bookmark Freedom from Tobacco's quitting Topic Index and be sure to master each lesson in Joel's Library!
