Hi Everyone,I'm a coach on a mission. I have found my true calling about a year ago as a coach. And in the last few months I've been focusing on a specific niche. I want to help people quit smoking. I've been studying all the various methods of quitting and reading books and online information to better understand what a smoker goes through when deciding to quit.I'm currently in the process of preparing a quit smoking seminar. I will be presenting it locally as a live seminar and will also look at the option of setting up a teleclass of a shorter version.I know I'm new and I can't tell you that I have a long history of clients who have quit using my program but so far the results have been extraordinary. I don't spend time teaching you all the negative health issues. Everyone already knows what smoking does to your health. From my studies and interviews with countless smokers and ex-smokers, from the books I've read, I've found one common factor with most of the successful ex-smokers. Every one of the smokers had made a mental change prior to putting out their last cigarette. They had decided that this was it and they were going to be non-smokers for the rest of their lives. One thing I've also noticed is that there are a lot of people trying to use will power to stay smoke free. I will warn you that if that is your method of choice, you are in danger! Will power is needed for step number two of my program which only lasts 3 days. If you need will power after the 3 days, something went wrong. I base this statement on the fact that a "real" non-smoker doesn't need will power not to smoke. You would actually need a whole lot of convincing to change a non-smoker's mind to decide to light up. So if you are using will power past the 3rd day, you fall in a category that I call a smoke free smoker. It's still not too late. You can use this program to help you make the transition to become a true non-smoker.My program consists of 3 steps.Step #1 - Mind Preparation and EducationPreparation and education on the important facts about the process of quitting is the most important step of all. I take the challenge of quitting smoking which can often seem like an impossible mountain to climb and I dissect it into many manageable parts so that you can tackle each small hill individually with the right tools for the job until every hill has been conquered. Some of these parts on their own sometimes become meaningless and disappear, and others can be dealt with ease. What this will do for you is to allow you to concentrate all your energy on the pieces (or hills) of the challenge that are important and more difficult.Within this preparation, one of the key facts that I will prove to you is that breaking a habit is easy to do. The habit portion of smoking is also easy to break. Once you realize this, you will be able to concentrate on the real difficult step which includes withdrawal symptoms. You don't smoke because it's a habit; you smoke because you're addicted to nicotine. There is a big difference and I will explain this in my seminar. You will also be able to identify the real reason why you smoke. Everyone has a different reasons and it's not a one size fits all approach. You can discover why YOU smoke and then work on preparing a plan to change your way of thinking about this reason. Wouldn’t you agree that if you no longer have a reason to smoke, it should be easier to kick the addiction?Step #2 - Nicotine Cleansing JourneyStarting on the first quit day, you will be going through real physical withdrawal symptoms. To some people these are barely noticeable while to others they are more severe. I've heard comparison to hunger pains to more pronounced feeling of loneliness. These typically last about 3 days and this is the most difficult step. Without step #1, many will give up within the first 3 days of quitting. Step #2 requires self control, and you must use what you have learnt in step #1 to get through the cravings.Step #3 - Your Follow up PlanThis step is also very important. If you don't have a follow up plan, you can easily slip back into the trap once again. The better prepared you are and the more munitions you arm yourself with the better your chances are. For days or even weeks after you've had your last cigarette, you will be reminded over and over that you were once a smoker. How you react to these reminders is the key to a smoke free future. I will arm you with all the necessary tools to combat these urges.
More details about my program to come soon.
Life as a non-smoker is wonderful. Anyone can make this choice and it's never too late.Eric P LandrySuccess Coach
